Sufism Studies Ens. 2016-2017 Spring Semester Sufi Culture and Literature Non-Thesis Master&#8217;s Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-1\" style=\"transform:translate3d(0,0,0);\"><p>The Institute of Sufi Studies started a non-thesis master&#8217;s program titled &#8220;Sufi Culture and Literature&#8221; in February 2016 and accepted its first students in the 2015-2016 Spring Semester. The program provides the opportunity to pursue postgraduate education in Sufism and related subjects for those interested in all branches.<\/p>\n<p>The content of the program is structured by associating the subjects of Sufi doctrine, Sufi history, Sufi literature with each other and with basic Islamic sciences, and with various disciplines of the social field, especially the history of Islamic thought and civilization. The program also aims to contribute to the production of interdisciplinary cultural studies from Turkey based on the perspective of &#8220;Islamic thought and Sufism&#8221;. A closer look reveals that any study of culture in this geography must refer to the field of Sufism. Today, research on Sufism can bring new perspectives to those interested in sociology and human psychology.<\/p>\n<p>The program, whose scientific content consultancy is carried out by \u00dcsk\u00fcdar University Rector Advisor Prof. Dr. Mahmud Erol K\u0131l\u0131\u00e7, is given with Arabic language support, especially the teaching of Ottoman Turkish, which is the research languages of the field of Sufism. Arabic language teaching is structured in the Ottoman classical style, specific to the program, in order to increase students&#8217; exposure to classical texts. Persian is among the elective courses.<\/p>\n<p>Students can also take an optional one-year Arabic Preparatory Education.
