Seyyid Mustafa R\u00e2sim Efendi&#8217;s Dictionary of Sufism (TS) (Ist\u0131l\u00e2h\u00e2t-\u0131 \u0130ns\u00e2n-\u0131 K\u00e2mil) (Istanbul: \u0130nsan Yay\u0131nlar\u0131 2008), which contains the terms in question, and the relevant articles in the D\u0130A (Religious Encyclopedia of Islam) compiled by the lecturer will be used as course materials.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sufi Classics <\/strong><em>Arzu Eyl\u00fcl Yal\u00e7\u0131nkaya, Teaching Assistant<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>16 hours<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In this course, the most resonant and influential works of Sufi literature will be discussed with sample texts and the lives of their authors. Each work will be placed in a historical context and analyzed in relation to the period before and after it. Thus, on the one hand, a history of Sufism in the line of artifacts will be drawn up.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some Figures of Sufi Tradition  <\/strong><em>Osman Nuri K\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck, Assoc. Dr.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>14 hours<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In this course, 16 important representatives of the Sufi tradition will be included. The main topics of the lives and works of the figures discussed will be emphasized and references will be made to the developmental stages of Sufi thought.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sufi Turkish Literature I <\/strong><em>Emine Yeniterzi, Prof. Dr. <\/em> <\/p>\n<p><em>8 hours<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The four main works of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries (Mantiqu&#8217;t-Tayr, Gar\u00eeb-n\u00e2me, Mevlid, Muhammadiyya) of religious-sufufi Turkish poetry will be examined in the context of the poets who wrote them, their organization, content, contribution to the world of Turkish culture and belief, and the determination and analysis of the basic teachings in the works based on sample texts.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seminars <\/strong><em>Nevzat Tarhan, Prof. Dr., \u0130smail Ta\u015fp\u0131nar, Prof. Dr., Sinan Canan, Prof. Dr., Cemalnur Sargut, Ahmet Murat \u00d6zel, Assoc. This building, which Koca Sinan humbly presented as &#8220;my journeyman&#8217;s work&#8221;, is in fact the most magnificent and harmonious structure ever built in Istanbul. In this harmony, it is possible to find the music of his time, the music of the planets mentioned by Pythagoras, and even the harmony of western music. As a matter of fact, this point is expressed by Sa\u00ee Mustafa \u00c7elebi in the following words from the mouth of Koca Sinan;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Praise be to the founder of the seven layers of heaven, and infinite praise be to God who covered the nine layers of heaven with a crystal dome, that in this work of water and earth, without rules or compasses, He shaped and adorned the palace of mankind, who has no soul or heart, and filled the mosques of the heart with good morals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>From this we understand that words and the concepts they express are at the heart of the understanding of creation and art.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is Nazende Yilmaz?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nazende Y\u0131lmaz graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Interior Architecture and received her master&#8217;s degree from Marmara University Institute of Turkiat Studies. He completed his PhD in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Institute of Social Sciences &#8211; History of Art Program with his thesis &#8220;Music and Space in the 19th Century Istanbul Cultural Environment&#8221;. He has lectured on Art History and Cultural History at various universities and worked under the leadership of Dr. Bruce Lawrence and Dr. Miriam Cook in the summer school of Duke University in Turkey.<\/p>\n<p>She currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Istanbul Medipol University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Architecture and Design, Department of Interior Architecture.
