Project Description
Emir Sultan Tomb, one of the most important spiritual figures of Bursa, was restored by Kerim Foundation by being faithful to the original, especially maintenance, repair and pencil work, and in July 2014, the covers of all the cists in the tomb were renewed and met with visitors. Afterwards, a ceremony was held on September 12, 2015 at the tomb of Emir Sultan Hazretleri, restoring the 600-year-old kundekari carvings around the sarcophagus. During the 2-month restoration process, the wood of the tomb was sprayed against insects and the cracked places were sprayed. Later, the paint and gold leafs were redone in accordance with the original. Five masters worked on the 600-year-old artifacts, whose gold leaf had been blackened and covered with dry wood for almost 10 years. While the mausoleum was kept open to visitors during the works, only one section was closed for restoration. The works carried out in the mausoleum were presented to the people of Bursa after a prayer ceremony attended by our Kerim Foundation founder Reverend Cemalnur Sargut.
