Institute of Sufi Studies Public Summer Seminars 2

Carl W. Ernst, Sachiko Murata, William C. Chittick, James Morris were invited from abroad to give lectures at the summer school. The program will be held with a wide range of experts including Mahmud Erol Kılıç, Emine Yeniterzi, Cangüzel Güner Zülfikar and Muhammed Bedirhan.

The summer school program includes several layers of education. Within the scope of the program, TSV542 Sufi Texts in English graduate course, seminars on Sufi studies, close reading group studies on Arabic and Ottoman Turkish Sufi texts, and public panels will be held.
In line with the course contents of the summer school program, textual studies will be made in Süleymaniye Library and Prime Ministry Ottoman Archives. There will also be visits to historical sites and movie readings.

The language of the program is English, postgraduate lectures, seminars and public panels will be interpreted simultaneously from English to Turkish.

Üsküdar University provides free accommodation for students attending the Summer School from outside Istanbul and abroad.

Graduate students from Turkey and abroad, researchers working in the field of Sufism and those interested in the subject can apply to the program until 25 June 2018.
